Here’s the picture of the scrunchie I finished …… hmm …… in July. It could be a bad sigh that I am getting lazier and lazier and I barely have new things to show, but it could also be a good sign of a possible return. We’ll see.

p.s. I have got my first moo mini-cards and I love them. 🙂

When holi came to my place the other day, she saw the bunch of doilies I put by the window and said she liked it.  Immediately I promised her to make her one if she wanted.  When I asked her for more specifications, she picked the blue shaded thread from the ones I showed her but gave me total freedom to choose the pattern.

Simple basics

What is your favorite way to consume the yarns in your stash? I usually choose to make a scarf, either by crocheting or by knitting. I had this skein of blue sock yarn. After I realized I would not knit any socks in the close future, I cannot stop thinking of getting rid of it. I showed the yarn to Mr Y and offered to make a hat or whatsoever for him before this winter ends, but all my offers got turned down. Then, I would just knit a scarf with one of the very first stitches I’ve learned 10+ years ago. Surprisedly, Mr Y likes the scarf so much that claimed it as his scarf when it’s only half way finished and started wearing it immediately after I finished off. He was even reluctant to give it back to me for photograph. The picture above was taken when he was still in bed…… Continue Reading Simple basics…

Blue scrap yarn leftover 2 years ago + ellipse motif edited from previous motif pattern = this ellipse flower. It might require a few more tricks to make such a flower using those manufactured flower looms. 🙂 It should work well with a barrette.

My last cross stitch project, i.e. my first cross-stitch project, dated back to early 2004. The colorful world built by crosses was not so fascinating for me, not to mention that the amount of required threads scared me out of it. I could barely imagine myself working on cross stitching projects again. However, things are changing all the time. Just like picking up knitting again, I also made my second cross-stitch project before the end of year 2007 after seeing many friends working on cross-stitches and reading some amazing books.

The bottom and the neck of the bottle are both slightly smaller than the body. The cozy are started from the bottom and finished at the neck.

Two plies of threads are used at the same time for the “textural” look. For round 1, 2, 4, 6, it’s the white thread with the light blue thread and for the others, it’s the light blue thread with shaded blue thread. A crochet hook of 3.25mm is used.

I’ll stay here for the weekend. I could go home on Thursday afternoon, but it’s risky that I might not be able to come back on Monday, or even next week. The situation of railway services is not improving anyway. I hope the strike would be over soon.

We just had our anniversary not so long ago, neither of us remember it on that day. In fact, I was the one with worse memory. On the other hand, I don’t think there is anything to celebrate for the first few years. It may only make sense to rejoice after, say, at least a decade. Even so, I feel like making something as a make-up.
