One head and eight arms

There’s a Chinese idiom that says “three heads and six arms (三头六臂)”, usually used to describe unordinary people who are so good at multi-tasking. Three heads might be arbitrary, but extra hands are definitely useful. Imagine a pair of arms cuddling the baby, another pair cooking dinner and the other doing laundry. The more arms, the better!

Schön bist du da

I’m kind of behind the majority. Most of my girlfriends have been moms for 3+ years now. Therefore, it was nice to have a friend being pregnant around the same time even though she is no longer living in the same city. We exchanged emails to discuss our pregnancy issues. Actually, it was not that different from before as we chatted via internet even when she was sitting in the office next to mine. Both of us were lazy! 😀 I always wanted to make something special for YJ or her baby, namely OOAK, not from any existing patterns. It took me so long that I almost couldn’t finish it before the baby arrives. Fortunately, her little boy isn’t as hurried as little K did. My gift package made it to its destination one week before the baby’s born, unlike my previous birth gifts that are more than 1 year late! 😛

Money cannot buy

To be honest, money is never an important issue for me. Having a supportive family, I am certain I won’t be starving, even when I was not able to support myself. Although I felt ashamed from time to time for making much less than my college friends, I am usually satisfied as long as I have source to cover my living expense, which is lower the average given my hobby of crafting and recycling. 😛

Recall my post from last year. I only realize it’s been the time for Moscow Fair again until I found many new pictures and photo albums showing up here and there.

Trying to catch up

I didn’t have much chances to get online during the vacation. Even when there is an internet access, many craft websites, including my own blog, are not accessible from China, not to mention the lags. I simply gave up my daily online reading in the first week. Accordingly, there are hundreds of unread blog posts when I came back. It took me quite a while to scan through them. Regardless of the boring “voluntine’s” projects, there are definitely something interesting I have missed. Here are some:

A lot of dolls

Although there are many other amazing doll pictures you can find on the internet, it is my first time to see such a delicate doll that is made of felt. For me, felting represents an art either cute or warm and cozy, but certainly differing from what is called delicacy. Maggie Iacono‘s dolls changed my viewpoint with ease. All her dolls are so sweet that I just wish I could make one myself in the future. Since the chance is less than 0.001%, I would rather spent a few time clicking around the website. My another favorite among her gorgeous dolls is Liesel.

Matryoshka Attack

Since junior high, I always like to get a “Kinder Surprise” as a small award for myself. I am never tired of discovering what’s inside and assembling the toy without looking at the guides. I don’t really like the chocolate outside and the toys usually go into my nephew’s pocket eventually. The plastic shells are all left. Such a shell appears in my sketch book rather frequently, but I never carried out any of them. One of the reason is that the paints I have cannot stay well on the surface. The solution is found when I was taking a shower. 😀 The implementation of one of the old sketch was relatively simple.

Matching Memory Game

I had been collecting the same type of lids for a few months last year since I started to consider a board game project. Although there are so many choices, I ended up with the simplest one. *blush* Here comes a brief tutorial for how to make and play the game. There are various online version of this game (Hatch and Match). 🙂 Continue Reading Matching Memory Game…
