I am slowly recovering from whatever I got from Marrakesh, but I really don’t have enough energy to blog every detail, that I wish I could, about the trips I had in May, not to mention I still need to work hard for the very last thing in France. Hopefully, I can graduate on time. Aw…..how exhausted and desperate…..just like the statue in the picture! (I really like this shot with the bird on the man’s head. Anyone knows where the shot was taken? ;-))

Anyway, let me make some sort of summary, by listing pictures, before I forgot about all the trips.

Jumper that cannot jump

I actually finished this jumper I have been working on train last week but I felt reluctant to show it because it does NOT fit! The pattern was from a Japanese pattern book ヨーロッパの手あみ (Spring/Summer 2008) that was just released this February. I really wanted to try this jumper pattern as it is a mixture of knitting and crochet.  Japanese pattern book sometimes only provide patterns for one-size, which is usually very slim. Therefore, I tried to calculate the number of stitches to fit the pattern to myself. Obviously I overestimated my own size.

I bet this one is the most well known among all 15 inchies I drew. Taiji symbolreflects the concept of Yin and Yang. For me, it’s rather a religious symbol as it’s usually seen in Taoist temples. The Taiji symbol together with Bagua is a very important component for Fengshui. I’ve seen a Taiji-Bagua on the roof of a friend’s home. Such an ornament is said to be talismanic.

I had several deadlines, several new tasks and several meetings in two cities this week. It’s great this busy week is going to the “end”. And, it’s great I can finally talk about my crafts.

Some were wondering how I can put my yarns into a bottle, while some even thought I bought such a bottle of yarn as a whole. Well, I wish there would be such things available here, but the truth is it’s something everyone can make. Continue Reading Drinking and Knitting…
