Light and shadow

I have been thinking to make one of these since I saw mizusugi‘s ribbon ornaments. J and I had a discussion about how hers should be made and came to a conclusion that it must be made up of several small identical parts to be stringed together into a ball.
I was rather expecting something made by sort of weaving and insertion. After many messy experiments, I finally came up with a star that doesn’t look too bad. The paper strips were still from the same magazine as the crab and the basket set. I think it can make great accessories as Francesca’s.
The weather has been great this week. Except for the 10-min shower yesterday evening, it is mostly sunny, which makes photographing a little trickier than the usual overcast days. On the other hand, it is like a little challenge to actually catch the shadow without ruining the whole picture. I like how the picture finally came out. I like good weather~ 😀

Your ribbon star is so cute and if you don’t mind could you give instructions on how you did it? I really like it a lot, and the picture you took of it is so nice. The star is really contrasts nicely with the brown and the shadow adds to the depth of this picture; plus all the neural tones look really nice together.
