Easy does it with Nancy Halvorse
August 4, 2006 at 4:18 pm | Posted in Craft - Books, Craft - Inspirations, Craft - Websites | 2 CommentsI have been seeing the covers of these series around from various quilt/patchwork websites in different languages(kr/ru/pt/en….). However I didn’t know how charming these books are until I finally take a glance inside one of them today.
The “art to heart” series are published by Nancy Halvorse, who looks much nicer than another Nancy. Ok, ok, it’s not good to judge people by their face. But…..Nancy Zieman really looks like the hard teacher in my primary school. -.- hmm….off topic already.
Compared to Debbie Mumm‘s designs, Nancy Halvorse’s are much smaller. Nancy uses more pastel colors and smoother contours. There are not many huge wallhanging and quilts in the books. Instead, Nancy’s lovely graphics are appliqued onto everyday articles, e.g. hot mittens and placemat. Soft expressions provides a few snapshots of her books, inspiring.
The house bookmark was quite similar to a project I had in mind. I should have made it before……:-(
