Since junior high, I always like to get a “Kinder Surprise” as a small award for myself. I am never tired of discovering what’s inside and assembling the toy without looking at the guides. I don’t really like the chocolate outside and the toys usually go into my nephew’s pocket eventually. The plastic shells are all left. Such a shell appears in my sketch book rather frequently, but I never carried out any of them. One of the reason is that the paints I have cannot stay well on the surface. The solution is found when I was taking a shower.
The implementation of one of the old sketch was relatively simple.

I had been collecting the same type of lids for a few months last year since I started to consider a board game project. Although there are so many choices, I ended up with the simplest one. *blush* Here comes a brief tutorial for how to make and play the game. There are various online version of this game (Hatch and Match).

I’ve written two exams and there is only one more to go for this year (there are 4 more in January.). I am sorry that I couldn’t reply any emails/comments and that I’ve been invisible from IM’s lately. Thanks for the nice comments, nice emails and nice messages to me!
The tatted butterfly

No doubt one simple project is not enough to really master the skills of needle tatting. This time, I made a butterfly with my doll needle.

I always want to make something for Mr. Y’s birthday, but I didn’t manage to do so in last two years. I just postponed my plan to the next event, e.g. Christmas, New Year, Chinese New Year, Valentine’s day….our anniversary….and his next birthday, then the loop goes over again. In other words, I didn’t make him any gifts in quite a long time. When I went through my sketchbook yesterday, I “discovered” my plan for his last birthday and decided to carry it out. Still, it is late either for his birthday or for the new year.
