Birthday wishlist #1December 1, 2009 at 11:10 am | Posted in All Finished Crafts, Craft - Books, Craft - How-to's, Craft - People | 1 Comment
It’s December and it’s my “birth-month”. I’ve started counting down by reminding Mr. Y every two hours. I’m also giving hints to him for the gifts, but I am not sure how well it would work. I showed a Kawasaki rose to him and ask whether he would make 99 such roses for my birthday. Unfortunately, the request ended up Mr. Y bargaining. According to him, it doesn’t seem plausible even to make more than one rose. Why am I not surprised at all? =,=
Kawasaki rose is among the most popular designs in the origami world. Actually, there are at least two rose designs by Toshikazu Kawasaki in his book 折り紙夢WORLD 花と動物編. I folded the first one years ago. It wasn’t so pleasant for some unknown reasons that I basically stop trying. The second design is a little more complicated than the first one, but it results in much more natural roses, as shown in the cover of the book. Here provides a more detailed step-by-step instruction of this rose.
